I made an impromptu decision at the beginning of the year to take a month off blogging. Writing had become more of a chore than a hobby, and much of my output was not particularly original. I decided to take the time off to work out where I wanted to go with it, to relax, and to focus on my academic work.
Given my other commitments, and after some reflection on my writing style, it is likely that the output of this blog is going to be somewhat reduced.
By way of an update, in the last month I:
- Attended a National Union of Students conference to amend its constitution, which got hijacked by the usual suspects;
- Launched a campaign to get elected to the NUS National Executive Council, independent of Conservative Future or any other faction;
- Have been dealing with unprecedented levels of anti-semitism on campus following a lecture-room occupation.
Posts will follow shortly about these.

Welcome back! I would be interested in reading your tactical assessment of the war/conflict in gaza.
Thanks.
I'll bear it in mind, but the truth is that most observers won't really have much an idea about what the outcome is until a lot further down the line. That's part of the reason why I didn't comment.
